History of the Larouge Breeding Cattery

It all started when, after falling in love with a Birman I saw at the hairdressers, I placed an order for a Pet Seal point female.

Because my husband John had always had a Ginger Moggy, I was going to get another one to keep it company.  The Breeder said they were now breeding Red points, and why didn't I go to the Birman Show and have a look?  I did go and saw a Red point and fell in love with that colour in a big way, so I ordered a Pet Red Point male kitten.

Paddy happened to come along before the Seal,

They were both shown for a season, and by then I knew I wanted to breed Red Points.

I was told I had to have a Tortie to get one, "But I don't like Torties" I said. "Of course, I love Torties now!"

The Breeder informed me that I had to have one to get a Red.

That was how I acquired my founding Queen, Tipsy, a beautiful Seal Tortie!

Tipsy was shown as an Entire along with my 2 pets, and after she had to stop breeding I continued to show her as another of my pets.

She was a real show pony and just loved being exhibited.

It was good for the public to be able to see a Tortie, as there weren't many around then.
